Triumphal Gate
This is one of the “postcard” symbols of the city, a historical and architectural monument made in the Russian-Byzantine style. The original two-tier arch was erected in 1891 from stone and brick for the ceremonial meeting of the Tsarevich, the future Emperor Nicholas II, who arrived in Vladivostok, hence the full name of the gate - “Nicholas Triumphal”.

Cathedral of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary

09
Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Тhis is not an Orthodox church, but a Catholic one, as can be seen from its appearance: the stone building is made in the neo-Gothic style. The Catholic city community has always been crowded, so at the beginning of the 20th century it was decided to build a church for worship; construction lasted almost a century. During Soviet times, there was an archive here; services resumed in 1993. Today, it is the largest functioning Catholic church that can be found beyond the Urals.
